Access working with Community Pharmacies

Integrated marketing agency Access has been appointed by Community Pharmacies to support in the development of the brand’s UK wide marketing strategy. The appointment follows a tender submission in December 2013 and appointment in February 2014.

The new contract sees Access working closely with Community Pharmacies to review their brand positioning, visual identity and marketing communications strategy. Initially, the work will focus on Congleton Pharmacy with a view to roll out similar activity across their network of 19 pharmacies. Access’ work with Community Pharmacies involves a full creative and tactical marketing review across internal and external signage, service literature and updating the website.

Community Pharmacies were founded in 2009, and unlike other pharmacies, they specialise in the dispensing of prescriptions within five minutes, offering exceptionally focused expertise and service levels on-site within GP practices. The Community Pharmacies team is led by Andrew Murray, one of the frontrunners in community pharmacy service delivery, having previously founded and built Assura Pharmacy, part of the FTSE listed Assura Group.

A professional and clinically focused organisation, Community Pharmacies works in partnership with GP practices establishing and operating health centre based pharmacies providing pharmacy services at the point of care.

Andrew Murray, founder and managing director of Community Pharmacies (UK) Ltd said: “The design and brand proposals from Access really struck a chord with the entire team, who all had a say in the final designs. We felt that Access really understood the business and our aspirations”.

Commenting on the brief, account director Lauren Jackson said, “We’re delighted to be working with Community Pharmacies. The initial brief gave us the opportunity to be creative and get involved in a fully integrated consumer facing campaign. The marketing activity proposed, aims to develop a stronger brand personality for the group and raise local awareness of Congleton Pharmacy and what it has to offer, with the aim of attracting new customers, and encouraging existing patients to the Readesmoor Medical Centre to use the pharmacy services available to them.

“The final illustrated direction is a step change in design styles usually adopted in this sector. This allows Community Pharmacies to inform customers in a way that is both gender, race and age neutral, highlighting the service offer in a polite and friendly way.”

As an integrated agency, with pharmaceutical experience in the team, Access were able to showcase its complete range of skills and offer a framework that works hard to support  Community Pharmacies’ key performance targets and future growth plans.
